Introducing the CSI - West Division in San Diego, CA

The Board of Directors at Christian Sports International (CSI) is pleased to announce the addition of a new division, CSI West, to the ministry, located in Santee, CA a suburb of San Diego, CA. The newly created division will be led by Mark Salazar, VP of West Division. Salazar comes to Christian Sports International with a lengthy ministry history. He began his journey serving the Lord in 2000 as a baseball instructor for CSI. "I spent two summers working baseball camps and sharing the Gospel with CSI during the day, and playing semi-pro ball in the evenings.," Salazar said. "Nineteen years later God would have me and CSI reunite and bring the ministry here in the wild, wild west."

Since his early beginnings in ministry with Christian Sports International, Mark went on to be; Youth Pastor at Canyon Springs Church/Calvary Chapel Mira Mesa, Associate Pastor/Youth Pastor at Cross Church San Diego, and Lead Pastor at Cross Community Church. He is returning to CSI from serving as the San Diego East County Director of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, where he has been since December 2015.

During his high school years, Salazar was one of the top 100 baseball players in the nation, and was drafted by the Houston Astros. He however turned down the draft to pursue a full scholarship to Long Beach State. He comes to Christian Sports International with his wife of fifteen years, Kristi, and their two children, Shadrach Christian (13), and Moriah Joy (11).

The creation of the new division will open a wide array of new ministry opportunities and territory, and will be a catalyst for expansion and growth in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ across the nation. CSI welcomes the Salazar family!
